Stevie Nicks unveils a Barbie made in her own image

Stevie Nicks recently revealed at a show that she has teamed up with Mattel to create a Barbie doll in her likeness. She presented the doll for the first time on stage in New York’s Madison Square Garden.

“I have something very exciting to share with you, a few hours before the rest of the world finds out,” Nicks told her audience. She continues: “I was very overwhelmed. Will she be like me? Will she have my mind? Will she have my heart?”

The Fleetwood Mac singer has had the doll for three months, but it is only available for pre-order in the US now. “With her unique voice, distinctive style and outstanding songwriting career, Stevie Nicks is a groundbreaking icon,” says the Mattel website. “To celebrate her amazing achievements as an artist, we are now releasing Stevie Nicks doll as the newest doll in the Barbie Music Series.”

He continued: “We designed this doll with a flowing black dress (reminiscent of the outfit on the cover of the 1977 Rumors album) and her signature platform boots. This tribute to one of the most successful songwriters of all time is an eye-catching collector’s item for all music fans.”

Stevie Nicks is happy with her image. “When I look at her, I see my 27-year-old self,” she said. “I am her and she is me.”
