Steven Berghuis opened the score after about half an hour, after Kian Fitz-Jim had won the ball after an error in the build-up at Paok.

In the 71st minute it became 2-0. After a pass by Gerald Alders, the ball disappeared through a defender of Paok and Ajax player Kayden Wolff into the goal. Shortly thereafter, Anestis Mythou striker determined the final score at 2-1.

Vitezslav Jaros kept the first half at Ajax and Remko Pasveer the second. Wout Weghorst started during rush hour and after the break Brian Brobbey replaced him. Defender Josip Sutalo was missing with an injury.

Ajax previously won 6-3 from Hibernian in the preparation period and played 1-1 against Aarhus.
