The Piedmontese group Marval acquired the VM Motori of Cento, in the Ferrarese, a historic mechanical plant specialized in diesel engines founded in the post -war period in which 350 people are currently used. The binding agreement with Stellantis was signed through Gamma Holding, Marval’s control shareholders. “A new page opens on which to write a new future for VM Motors, a productive reality relevant to Emilia-Romagna,” said the regional vice-president of economic development Vincenzo Colla, the commissioner for work Giovanni Paglia and the mayor of Cento Edoardo Accorsi. “We will carefully evaluate the industrial plan to ensure a positive social and employment impact”.

Marval is a multinational specialized in mechanical precision processes for industrial engines intended for agricultural machines, earth movement, commercial vehicles and trucks, with offices in Italy, the United Kingdom and China. VM Motors produces engines for the marine sector and involves a qualified indictment of companies between the provinces of Ferrara, Bologna and Modena. The Region convened for Monday 15 September a meeting in Bologna between representatives of Stellantis, Marval, Region, the Municipality of Cento, province of Ferrara and trade unions to evaluate the contents of the transition to the new property. “We are talking about an industrial operation with a group that has world experience in the sector”, add institutional representatives.
