The Vienna Kaufhaus Steffl introduces the generation change and appoints Johanna Elisabeth Schmid to the management.
Freddy Schmid, managing director of the retail company in the department store, handed over his role in the hands of the third generation in early April, Steffl said on Thursday. As a creative part of the management, Johanna Elisabeth Schmid, together with CEO Thomas Hahn, is to work on the future vision of the retailer.
The new managing director was previously active as a Chief Creative Officer of the company and recently received more responsibility. In August she took over the areas of marketing, public relations, online, decoration and customer service from Milene Platzer. In 2023 she was responsible for the strategic area development of the new purchase concept “Marketplace” with her logistics and shopping experience.
Freddy Schmid, who has significantly promoted the transformation of the department store, will now devote more to the areas of the Hans Schmid private foundation with real estate, viticulture and hotel parks.
