“Everything came out everywhere with him.”

Union Berlin lost against Werder Bremen. But that’s not all: striker Andrej Ilić had to leave the field. Coach Steffen Baumgart explained the reason.
Union Berlin actually wanted to collect points in Bremen – but nothing came of it. The hosts beat the guests from the capital 1-0 on Friday evening. The Bundesliga evening was particularly unpleasant for one player: Andrej Ilić.
The Union striker played well and wasn’t afraid to take on duels. But then the Serb had to be substituted in the 29th minute because he had health problems. Shortly beforehand he had to sit down on the grass and the carers and doctors rushed over. As he left the field, the 25-year-old indicated that his vision was blurry.
Afterwards, coach Steffen Baumgart explained on Sky that the offensive player had to throw up in the dressing room: “He only said once that he was dizzy. Then everything came out everywhere. His circulation was down. That was a shame and bad luck for us.”
After Ilić was substituted, things were no longer going well for Union. Captain Christopher TRimmel explained: “You have to honestly say that our game has already changed after Andrej’s substitution. He is very important, he secures a lot of balls and therefore makes us better.”
In the 72nd minute, Marco Grüll scored the winning goal for Bremen. Victor Boniface was also allowed to start for Werder for the first time. The former Leverkusen player then told the TV station: “I’m very happy, I haven’t played that much recently. It’s about us winning as a team.”
Bremen are now in seventh place in the Bundesliga table with 11 points, while Union is in 10th place with 10 points.
