The net reach at Raab is getting smaller and smaller. It has never been this low.
Stefan Raab’s streaming show “You won’t win a million here with Stefan Raab” (DGHNDMBSR) continues to lose popularity. Now it has fallen below the 200,000 audience mark for the first time.
According to current figures from AGF Videoforschung, only 190,000 people followed the format in the last week of November. The broadcaster RTL has now announced this. This metric includes both TV and streaming usage of the show and is released with a two-week delay.
RTL’s new flagship – it leaks and sinks, week after week
The start of “DGHNDMBSR” was so promising. Raab’s previous comeback after an absence of almost ten years: effectively orchestrated. With great fanfare, Stefan Raab fought his way back into show business from early retirement in mid-September. Against Regina Halmich, for the third time. And this time too he lost the fight in the ring – but not the loyalty of his fans, as it seemed. At the premiere of his new show, the entertainer was able to attract 790,000 viewers to the screen. More than the national team in a game in the Nations League.
But the numbers fell continuously in the following weeks. In the second week, the format only recorded 430,000 viewers. According to “Bild”, his new station actually had clear ideas when it came to ratings. Stephan Schmitter, the Germany boss of the private program: “We had set ourselves the goal in advance of generating an average of around 500,000 views per week with the format.”
Prominent driving force – but the ride was too short
A small glimmer of hope for the hybrid quiz challenge production was the guest appearance by Thomas Gottschalk in mid-November. In his role as game director, he ensured a short-term increase in viewer numbers. The net reach increased – from 230,000 to 260,000. However, it is still miles away from the target.
Now Raab will soon be seen in another evening show. This time on Saturdays, and not just on RTL+, but also on TV, like before. However, he doesn’t have to lead through the new format all alone. Michael “Bully” Herbig will be at his side. Can it also provoke the Gottschalk effect? The premiere of “Stefan and Bully against someone Schnulli” is scheduled for December 21st at 8:15 p.m.
