Statement of the day | Rightly so that the municipality demands stricter rules from FC Groningen

The municipality of Groningen has an external organization conduct research into safety in and around the Euroborg at FC Groningen matches.

With this she wants to have more grip on the club, so that supporters feel safe again in the Euroborg.

The municipality believes that the club board has been naive at times. House rules of FC Groningen are insufficiently observed. Examples are setting off fireworks, smoking and wearing face-covering clothing.

Groningen also does not see the disturbances at the football club as incidents this season. She is concerned about how organized these disturbances are.

Do you think it is right that the municipality intervenes and that the deployment of the police should become less necessary? Should the security organization at FC Groningen monitor these kinds of expressions in the stadium and compliance with the house rules more strictly?
