Lidl attracted a lot of attention last week because of a TV advertisement in which Drents is spoken. There was a lot of comment on this, after which the supermarket called in a language coach from the Huus van de Taol and sent their actors to lessons in Drenthe.
Lidl took the criticism about the ruling of the Drenthe very seriously.
Shooting was Thursday and Friday. Director Renate Snoeijing of Huus van de Taol: ,,They had already asked us to supply a few sentences in good Drents and how they should sound in Drents. Apparently it must be really good now. Perhaps that has something to do with the fuss that has arisen about their new advertisement.”
Is it a good move by Lidl that they send actors to Drentse lessons for their TV advertising? Reply to our Statement of the day
