Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office considered TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu’s statement about “referees with betting accounts” as a denunciation and decided to deepen the investigation by combining it with the existing file. A new statement was made by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding referees.

Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that the referees’ last 5-year records regarding their betting will be examined within the scope of the emerging betting scandal.

The official statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is as follows:

“Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, MASAK reports, HTS records, subscription records of accessible domestic and international betting sites, records regarding the determination of betting on these sites, and witness statements have been provided. It should be appreciated that analyzing these records belonging to thousands of people and dozens of institutions within a retrospective period of at least 5 years takes a certain time and requires intense work, and only after these analyses. “Once the real suspects are identified, legal action will be taken against them.”
