An employee of the S-Bahn noticed a fire in a cable duct in Wedding yesterday afternoon. Around 3 p.m., the train driver noticed smoke developing on a signal mast next to the track system between Wedding and Westhafen stations and dialed the emergency call.

Other S-Bahn employees tried to extinguish the fire when the fire brigade arrived. Train traffic on lines S41 and S42 was stopped immediately.
