“Star Wars”: This big reunion can be celebrated in “Ahsoka”.

Fans of the star saga are enjoying a meeting they had to wait 15 years for.

“Star Wars” fans had reason to be happy on Tuesday (September 5th). The fourth episode of the new series “Ahsoka” ended with the return of one of the most legendary characters in the star saga.

Major spoilers for the new episode follow.

What Happened: After Ahsoka falls into an abyss, the renegade Jedi finds herself in the “world between worlds” – a place that exists independent of space and time. A voice then says, “Hello, Snips,” before none other than a digitally rejuvenated Hayden Christensen emerges from the shadows as Anakin Skywalker.

This live-action encounter was 15 years in coming. Ahsoka was introduced as Anakin’s padawan in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. A series of the same name ran from 2008 to 2014, with a final season in 2020, and further developed the relationship between the two characters. “Snips” was the nickname Anakin gave his student.

Fans were delighted with Hayden Christensen’s appearance, especially after he made a cameo in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s solo show last year. Many already recognized parallels between the live-action characters and their animated counterparts.

The joy is particularly great on X (formerly Twitter). One user said: “Hayden Christensen’s return as Anakin Skywalker speaking to Ahsoka Tano in live action brought me tears of joy.”

To see how the encounter between the two develops, fans of the series will have to wait until September 13th.
