The Latvian biathlon team keeps a tangible discussion in suspense. Former medalist Andrejs Rastorgujevs makes serious allegations against one of the coaches after the Biathlon World Cup.

After returning from the biathlon World Cup in Switzerland, the Latvian biathlete Andrejs Rastorgujevs caused a sensation against a trainer with hard allegations.

According to him, Ilmar’s Brcis, member of the coaching team, is said to have beaten him.

After arriving in his homeland, Rastorgujevs had given the broadcasting station “Latvijas Televizija” the explosive interview. The incident occurred after the single mixed relay.

The trainer attacked him because of an alleged material clause.

Biathlon: Rastorgujevs talks about supposedly assault

“He struck me and broke my finger. I think my shoulder is pretty hurt too. I am now going to the hospital and have myself examined,” said the 36-year-old.

If BRCIS does not resign, he will no longer continue his career, Rastorgujevs threatened.

The coach already reacted and denied the allegations. According to him, the whole thing happened differently that Rastorgujevs had accused another person from the service team of the material claus and the coach then defended it.

However, he confirmed that there was a dispute in the heat of the battle. He threw the biathletes out of his hotel room. He justified this by the fact that his son was also there.

The accused defends himself: “Are not boxers”

“We didn’t beat each other, but we definitely fought, yes. But you see, neither one nor the other was hurt. We are not a boxer,” he said.

The wife of BRCIS has now also spoken out. She called Rastorgujevs “mentally unstable”.

According to reports, the Latvian association has reported Rastorgujevs and BRCIS for comments. Until the incident has been clarified, there are no further comments from the association.

A year ago, Rastorgujevs at the World Cup in Nove Mesto brought the World Cup silver medal in the mass start. This was the greatest success of his career.
