Staff shortage tax authorities: less and less traditional checks | Economy

Due to staff shortages, the Tax and Customs Administration has far too few people available to check returns. The number of traditional manual examinations has fallen by at least 65 percent in recent years, from more than 600,000 in 2016 to around 212,000 this year. The service is concerned about the declining supervision.
