Stadium statement from Gençlerbirliği! – Last minute TFF 1st League news

Gençlerbirliği announced that the match against Bandırmaspor will not be played at Eryaman Stadium.

A statement came from Gençlerbirliği, which will host Bandırmaspor in the 23rd week of the Trendyol 1st League, about Eryaman Stadium. In the statement, it was noted that the ground was unsuitable for playing football in the examinations carried out by the Turkish Football Federation. In the written statement made by the Capital team, it was stated that the match to be played at Eryaman Stadium on February 19 at 20.00 will take place at Aktepe Stadium due to the heavy match traffic affecting the ground recently and the following statements were made:

“The ground of Eryaman Stadium, which we have in common use with MKE Ankaragücü, one of the Trendyol Super League teams, has been affected by the heavy match traffic in the recent period and the field ground will become even heavier after the match between MKE Ankaragücü and Galatasaray on February 18-Sunday, we will play against Bandırmaspor on Monday, February 19. It has been concluded by TFF and us that the field ground will be unsuitable for playing football in the match. On this occasion, in the letter sent to our club by TFF, we were asked to determine a stadium for the match we will play with Bandırmaspor on Monday, February 19, and it was stated that if our club does not specify a stadium, TFF can assign a stadium ex officio. Trendyol As a club, we have decided to play in a different stadium, upon the request of TFF, until the work at Eryaman Stadium is completed, so that our remaining home matches in the 1st League can be played at Eryaman Stadium again and ground maintenance works can be carried out in a healthy manner. As a result of the discussions and correspondence, upon our request, it was decided that the Bandırmaspor match in the 23rd week of the Trendyol 1st League will be played at Aktepe Stadium on Monday, February 19, at 14.00. “We would like to announce it to the public and our valuable fans.”
