For the first time in 33 years, SSC Napoli can call themselves Italian champions again, the pictures of the party night on Thursday after the 1-1 (0-1) at Udinese Calcio went around the world. For President Aurelio de Laurentiis, preparations for the coming season begin now – with important personnel decisions. On the one hand, striker Victor Osimhen is being hunted from half of Europe, on the other hand, coach Luciano Spalletti’s contract is ending.

… reported the Italian news agency Ansa with reference to the police. Three other people came to the clinic with gunshot wounds, many people injured their hands from pyrotechnics, and a number of stab wounds were also recorded.
“I’m not going to sell Victor Osimhen this summer, no way,” said the 72-year-old (quoted via “Sky Italia”) in the show “Cinque Minuti” of the Italian radio station “Rai1”. In recent weeks, de Laurentiis has expressed his desire to keep the 24-year-old Nigerian, who has 27 goals and five assists this season. In addition to FC Bayern, who according to “Bild” want to refrain from making an advance, the rumor mill also trades Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United as interested parties.
While Napoli have the reins of the trade at Osimhen, who has a contract until 2025 with no release clause, Spalletti’s future depends on the manager himself. The 64-year-old can leave the Azzurri this summer as his deal now expires on June 30. The club would like further cooperation: “I exercised the contract extension clause, now it’s up to him to say the word. Luciano has declared that he fell in love with Naples, here he has become a hero and it is right that he enjoys it.”
The SSC is Spalletti’s eighth as a coach in Italy, and he also worked for Zenit St. Petersburg from 2009 to 2014. With an average of 2.11 points in 91 games, he has the second-best record of all Napoli coaches, only Maurizio Sarri (2.16) scored more points between 2015 and 2018 – but no title. “Luciano Spalletti is a legend that I have been following for at least ten years. I finally brought him to Naples in 2021, he brought us back to Europe after the Covid crisis. And now I wish that an era starts with him at the top because he is a great leader,” said de Laurantiis.
