Borussia Dortmund is playing a season to forget. Coach Nuri Şahin has been away since Wednesday. A German national player could also leave the club soon.
Tullberg now has to get a completely unsettled BVB team back on track. The extent to which he can rely on Karim Adeyemi is currently uncertain. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and the pay-TV broadcaster Sky report, the German national player is hotly sought after. It’s about a change this winter.
Italy’s league leaders SSC Napoli would like to lure Adeyemi to Vesuvius. The club has been in contact with both the Dortmund team and the players. Napoli and BVB would discuss a total package of between 45 and 50 million euros, writes Romano.
According to Sky, Napoli is even offering 52.5 million euros for Adeyemi. Dortmund is now said to be open to a sale. According to the TV station, there was already an initial offer for Adeyemi last week. Napoli would have offered 40 million euros for the attacker’s services – apparently without success.
Adeyemi, whose contract in Dortmund runs until 2027, has played 13 competitive games for BVB so far this season, scoring five goals and preparing five more goals. His performance in the Champions League against Scottish club Celtic was particularly remembered after Adeyemi scored a hat-trick in the 7-1 win. Its market value is currently estimated at 35 million euros.
If the offensive player actually leaves Dortmund, BVB will probably focus on another DFB professional as a replacement. Kevin Schade is apparently still very popular with the Black and Yellows. According to Romano, the winger from English club FC Brentford would be BVB’s top transfer target if Adeyemi moves to Naples.
The French trade magazine “L’Équipe” reports that Dortmund is looking into Turkish national player Yunus Akgün in the event of Adeyemi’s departure. BVB is said to have already held talks with his club Galatasaray.
