Atakan Karazor is not in Turkey’s final World Cup squad. For the VfB captain it is the next disappointment after the cup final.

National coach Vincenzo Montella has removed Stuttgart captain Atakan Karazor from the Turkish World Cup squad. The 29-year-old was still part of the preliminary squad of 35 players, but did not make it into the final 26-man squad for the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Karazor only watched the DFB Cup final against FC Bayern a week and a half ago from the bench – Stuttgart lost 3-0. The midfielder has so far played two senior international matches for Turkey. He came on as a substitute in the World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria (2-0) and Spain (2-2) last November.
