The Irish post-punk band is probably in the flow. Because even if the debut from Sprints only got out with Letter to Self 2024, the group has already announced a second LP for 2025. It is all that is titled and will be released on September 26 via City Slang.

Recommendations of the editorial team

“It was just going on so much”

The band wrote the songs in their time in the tour bus and during sound checks. Despite the many trips, Karla Chubb in particular felt creative and productive. “There was just so much going on and so much to process,” said Chubb. And further: “I was just going through my partner with whom I had been with eight years; Colm had left the band; we had developed into professional musicians, and I was at the beginning of a new relationship. But then I looked outside and the world was more ugly. I wrote every day because there was so much going on.”

“A tool to process the world”

The first single, “Descartes”, can already be heard. The song was influenced by a line from Rachel Cusk’s novel “Outline”: “Vanity is the curse of our culture.” Singer Karla Chubb in the press release: “A large part of the negativity you see in the world has its roots in vanity and the ego, that your own beliefs or your own identity are more important than those of someone else. In” Descartes “it is about the idea that writing is not just a tool for me to make music, but also to process the world.”
