Sprint champion Miho Takagi withdraws halfway through the World Allround Championships

Miho Takagi has withdrawn after the first day of the World Allround Championships, her coach Johan de Wit confirms. The 29-year-old Japanese, who won the world sprint title on Friday evening, won the 500 meters earlier in the day and came eleventh in the 3000 meters. She was third halfway through the tournament, 0.50 seconds behind Marijke Groenewoud.
