On October 7, 2025, Holstein Kiel celebrates an extraordinary anniversary: 125 years of club history. The first Bundesliga promotion on a mild summer evening last year was just one of many highlights of an incredibly moving club history. From the modest beginnings in 1900, the 1912 championship to sporting ups and downs, to the greatest successes in recent years. In the sports club Story, the two NDR authors Tom Gerntke and Moritz Kühn meet players, coaches, fans and contemporary witnesses who tell about their very personal (life) history to this club. Among other things, the promotion coach Marcel Rapp, three of the remaining amateur champions from 1961 and the club historian Patrick Nawe have their say. In addition, the story accompanies a fan that has experienced every game “of his KSV” live in the stadium for several years. No matter whether at home or away – a whopping and writing over 240 games in a row. Everyone unites the love of KSV and it becomes clear: this club is more than a football club. It is identification, part of life and deeply rooted in the city and the entire region.
