American football player David Njoku moved around the home stadium of the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in an eye-catching outfit. The inside winger of his team had completely covered his face with a mask that was like something borrowed from a superhero movie.

The use of the mask was explained by an accident at home in September. Njoku burned his face in the explosion of the fireplace and did not want to show the traces of the fire to the public. He also covered his face completely while playing.

On Thursday, Njoku decided to reveal his secret and published pictures of himself. Based on one photo, the athlete appears to have received burns on his forehead, cheeks and nose. In the second picture, she shows off her face with a smile.

There is also a positive angle to the accident. Based on his experience, Njoku launched a fan trademark to raise funds for other fire accident victims. He also donated money to ABA, an American association that helps fire victims.

– I have learned how much life can change as a result of a fire accident. I want to take advantage of my position and raise awareness of a general problem and bring light to an otherwise dark topic, says Njoku in the association’s press release NBC’s by.
