The first, historic Italian edition of the Sportiva-WDSF International Edition Grandslam goes to the archive with record numbers: seven thousand appearances in three days, one thousand six hundred athletes in the race, of which about six hundred Italians, 47 nations represented, from China to the United States, from Russia to Israel. A planetary boom, also in its digital diffusion: the over five hundred content products for the official channels of the National Federation (FIDESM) and World (WDSF) have obtained far beyond the half million views. There were three days of dances, music and colors that filled the track and the stands of the Palazzetto dello Sport in Viale Tiziano. A big party, for international sports dance, but first of all for the Italian movement, which was represented here by about six hundred athletes and which is constantly growing. Three days of high -level competitions, two European titles assigned, two tests of the Grandslam circuit held, dozens of other races always of international caliber between Junior and Senior, on the track and dancers tracks from 12 to 75 years. An event at the first edition, which promises to grow already from the next, in 2026. “It was three extraordinary days – says Laura Lunetta, president of Fidesm and vice president of the WDSF -, the athletes gave us unforgettable emotions, bringing to the track the universal language of dance. I thank the public, who wanted to follow us so large, and the institutions that accompanied us and supported us. We feel active, and of the Minister Abadi, who has honored us with his presence. For three days Rome was the center of world sports dance, the best interpreters of this sport found themselves at the Palatiziano, to win one of the stages of the international circuit organized by the WDSF, the world federation chaired by the Chinese Shawn Tay, which will end at the end of the year in Shanghai, with the Finals open only at the best twelve couples of the ranking.

The couple formed by Andrea Roccatti, Roman of Rocca Priora, and Julia Mozdyniewicz, with the sixth place obtained in the WDFS Grandslam Standard test, confirmed itself at the world of discipline, with the safety of participating in Shanghai’s finals. Lorenzo Alberetti, Perugino, and the Russian Aleksandra Raskatova, have conquered the European title in the “Ten Dances” specialty. The Sicilians Luigi La Rocca and Marika Maria Sverra won the victory in the Rising Stars category (nascent stars), Latin specialties.

The greatest exponents of the Italian sports institutions alternated with the Palatiziano, to express their closeness to Italian sports dance. From the minister of sport Andrea Abadi, who did not want to lose the final evening, while the batteries of the Latin test of the WDSF Grandslam, to the president of Coni Luciano Buonfiglio, who baptized the inaugural day were staged. “Sports dance with Laura Lunetta is a successful story – her words – and not only for sports performance. Events like these internationals also demonstrate its great organizational skills”.
