The men of Even Tot Hier have made a pretty spicy joke about the car accident of the Flemish TV star Tom Waes. He was late to the studio for a special reason…
Tom Waes is under a lot of fire because his serious car accident in Antwerp – he himself was seriously injured, the driver of an arrow car was slightly injured – turned out to be caused by a much too high blood alcohol level. By getting behind the wheel while drunk, he knowingly risked the lives of people on the road.
‘Sorry, guys’
The guys from Even Tot Hier are making jokes about it again. They did not start the broadcast last night with their regular Flemish pianist Miguel Wiels, but with Cor Bakker.
After a few minutes, Cor calls out: “Hey, isn’t that your Belgian pianist? That Miguel?”
Presenter Jeroen Woe: “Oh, he’s there! Miguel is here!”
Miguel: “Sorry guys, sorry. Sorry.”
Border controls
Since moments earlier it was about the new border controls in the Netherlands, Niels van der Laan asks: “What is it Miguel? Were you stopped at the border?”
Miguel: “No, no, I could just keep driving.”
Niels: “But why are you so late, man?”
Miguel: “Yes, I crashed into an arrow car on the Antwerp ring road.”
‘Hopperdepop!’
It leads to laughter in the studio. “Oh, he is and remains Flemish, isn’t he? Hopperdepopperdepop,” says Niels, making drinking gestures. “Well, you can go, Cor!”
Cor then disappears behind a door with ‘decoration storage’ written on it. Niels: “That is the decor storage. He has been waiting there for twelve seasons to come in!”
