Spectacular Ferrari rumors about Max Verstappen

The ailing traditional racing team Ferrari is reportedly dreaming of a collaboration with Formula 1 triple world champion Max Verstappen.

The Catalan online newspaper “El Nacional” reports on this. Accordingly, Verstappen is seen as the ideal driver for the Scuderia in Maranello because of his hunger for success, his charisma as well as his aggressiveness and pace on the track.

However, those responsible should be aware that signing the 26-year-old Dutchman would be complicated.

Verstappen is tied to Red Bull until 2026 and is currently dominating Formula 1 with his team at will. Ferrari, on the other hand, has not been able to produce a car that is competitive at the highest level for several years.

The 16-time constructors’ world champion celebrated his last drivers’ world championship in 2007. At that time, Formula 1 icon Kimi Räikkönen, who has since retired, took the crown in the premier class of motorsport.

Formula 1: Frédéric Vasseur says “never never” to Max Verstappen

In the past 2023 season, they only finished third in the team standings behind Red Bull and Mercedes. Charles Leclerc ended up fifth in the driver rankings, Carlos Sainz came seventh.

Nevertheless, team boss Frédéric Vasseur does not publicly rule out a possible Verstappen move to the Reds.

“If you were to ask all ten Formula 1 team bosses, none of them would say that they don’t want him in their team,” the Frenchman recently told Sky Italia on the sidelines of Ferrari’s Christmas lunch. “Max has a contract until 2026 with Red Bull, we have to focus on ourselves so as not to lose energy and work on our own things. It’s not just a question of the drivers, but we have to look at the whole thing. Until So now it’s not an aspect that we need to discuss. But I also say: never say never.”
