There will be a special reunion for Sandro Wagner from FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).
Wagner and Co. travel to TSG Hoffenheim on the twelfth Bundesliga matchday. The Augsburg coach was active as a player for Kraichgauer between summer 2016 and the beginning of 2018 (50 appearances, 18 goals).
Wagner also played against Hoffenheim nine times with FC Bayern, SV Darmstadt, 1. FC Kaiserslautern as well as with Hertha BSC and Werder Bremen (3 wins, 3 draws, 3 defeats). The former goalscorer scored twice.
Last weekend, Wagner celebrated an immensely important victory in the bottom of the table with FC Augsburg by beating Hamburger SV 1-0. After conceding a goal in 14 Bundesliga games in a row, FCA kept a clean sheet for the first time since mid-April (a 0-0 draw at home against Eintracht Frankfurt).
The upcoming away game in Hoffenheim won’t be easy: TSG didn’t get more than a 1-1 draw in Mainz recently, but they are second in a table from the last five matchdays with 13 points and 13:5 goals, just behind FC Bayern (13 points, 16:5 goals).
