The Special Olympics World Games in Berlin should also be an unforgettable highlight for Paul Koegler. The 24-year-old has been playing golf for six years and has already come a long way.

When he’s not on the golf course, Paul Kögler works in the service department in a retirement home in Munich’s Kieferngarten district. In terms of sport, he has found his home at the Munich-Aschheim Golf Park for some time.

“When Mama Tees Off, Look Elsewhere”

The club is known for its inclusion team. Paul has been training here for six years and now embodies “world class”. He is constantly training, improving and enjoying his golfing. His mother Helga is almost always there, be it as organizer, driver or helping hand for her son. But she can’t teach him anything anymore on the golf course.

“We play together occasionally. The trainer always says to him: If mum tees off, look somewhere else so he doesn’t learn anything bad.”

At the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Paul will start individually, so he will go on the round alone.
