The lists are flying around your ears at the end of 2024. The New Year is approaching and that is of course the time to look back. Of course, we at NH Sport cannot lag behind. Which stories and videos that we made are worth putting in the spotlight again? Former professional football players Danny Post and Bart van Hintum are happily finishing up in the fourth division.
In the first half of 2024, he still traveled with the Almere City FC player bus to the Arena and the Philips stadium, although he hardly makes any minutes in coach Alex Pastoor’s team. In the summer, 35-year-old Danny Post hangs up his football boots. After a professional career that started at HFC Haarlem and took him to Almere City FC via FC Groningen, SC Cambuur, FC Dordrecht, VVV-Venlo, it is done.
But Post doesn’t stop completely. He decides to play football for the amateurs of KSV in Heerhugowaard. We spoke to him on the day he played against Alcmaria Victrix. 37-year-old Bart van Hintum plays in that team. His resume? TOP Oss, FC Dordrecht, PEC Zwolle, Gaziantepspor, Heracles Almelo, FC Groningen, PEC Zwolle and ADO Den Haag.
Both players don’t turn up their noses at putting on their kicks in the basement of amateur football. “I was done with it,” Post said about his choice to say goodbye to professional football. Van Hintum: “A few friends convinced me to come and play football here. I do it for fun.”
City derby
Van Hintum comes out on top with Alcmaria: his team wins 4-1. The Alkmaarders are the leader after two matchdays, while Post is scoreless at the bottom with KSV. Almost three months later, of the eleven competition games, Alcmaria has only lost the city derby against Alkmaarsche Boys.

KSV picked up seven points from eleven games and is in tenth place in the group of twelve teams.
