South Korean professional golfer Chung In-Gee won the $9 million Women’s PGA Championship in Bethesda, Maryland, marking her third major tournament win.

After a 75 on the final round on the par-72 course, which was affected by strong winds, the 27-year-old prevailed with 283 strokes and five strokes under the course standard. Chung was a cut above her rivals Minjee Lee (Australia) and Lexi Thompson (USA).

The Asian received prize money of 1.35 million dollars for her first tournament victory in almost four years. Prior to Bethesda, Chung had also won major tournaments at the 2015 US Women’s Open and a year later at the Evian Championship in France.

The German quartet was no longer involved in the decision. Ester Henseleit, former British Open winner Sophia Popov, Isabell Gabsa and former Solheim Cup winner Caroline Masson had already failed to cut the top 72.
