Elevated concentrations of fungicide have been measured in 4 West Flemish water production centers of De Watergroep for two years, with the standard regularly being exceeded. Minister Brouns does allow temporary deviations, but without risk to health. The problem is greatest in the Blankaart in Diksmuide, mainly due to industry and sewage treatment plants, but also due to agriculture. The minister will soon come up with a plan to tackle pollution.
