Sour start to 2023 for Telstar; TOP Oss strikes in the final phase

Telstar had enough chances against TOP Oss, but only used one. That is why there was lost in Brabant. After an own goal from Glynor Plet, Christos Giousis put things in order. Via Rick Dekker it still became 2-1 for the Ossers in the final phase.

The first game of 2023 started disastrously for Telstar. It was captain Glynor Plet who worked the ball from a corner behind Ronald Koeman Jr: 1-0. Then the White Lions took over the initiative. The team became dangerous through a weak shot from Anwar Bensabouh and a chance for Yahya Boussakou.

He found Thijs Jansen on the road. Telstar was paid for his work, after Christos Giousis took over the ball and hit: 1-1. The Greek then headed just wide after a cross from Boussakou. Just before the break it was Plet, who tried it brilliantly. Jansen was again a spoilsport for the people of Velsen.

In the second half, Koeman got himself into trouble. He cut out attacker Kyvon Leidsman, but he took over the ball. The attacker committed a foul, so the goalie got away well. Telstar seemed to play right away. Although Koeman still had to stop an important shot.

The smile was exchanged for a sad face in the final phase. Rick Dekker took the lead in minute 88. With that, the year 2023 starts in a minor sport for Telstar.

Setup Telstar: Koeman; Boussakou, Apau, Aktas, Oude Kotte, Blackson (Seedorf/79); Najah, Bensabouh (Soares/90), Mulder (Turfkruier/63); Giousis, Plet (Smit/63)
