Thirty-year-old Planckaert has to take on the role of lead-out. “When I started cycling as an eight-year-old, it was my dream to come out for a team like Soudal Quick-Step one day,” says Planckaert in a communication from the team. “I am therefore very happy that this dream will come true next year.”
