Sophie Kinsella, 55, known for the book series The Lover, has died.

The English writer Sophie Kinsella has died at the age of 55, reported the news, among other things The Telegraph and The Guardian.

According to The Telegraph, the family says that Kinsella’s last days were peaceful. Kinsella died on Wednesday morning, December 10.

– He died peacefully, his last days were full of his true loves: family, music, warmth, Christmas and joy. We can’t even imagine what life is like without her radiance and joy of life, the family informs The Telegraph.

– From her illness, which she lived with incredible courage, Sophie considered herself truly blessed, as she had a wonderful family and friends and enormous success in her career as a writer. She took nothing for granted and was forever grateful for the love she received. He is missed so much, our hearts break, the family’s statement says.

Kinsella was diagnosed with glioblastoma, i.e. aggressive brain cancer, at the end of 2022. Kinsella told about his illness publicly in the spring of 2024. The cancer was treated with surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

Kinsella, real name Madeleine Wickhamis known, among other things, for its recommendation Lust shopper– from his comedy book series. The secret dreams of a lust shopper -work has also been made into a successful film released in 2009, starring Isla Fisher. The main character Rebecca is also heard to speak Finnish in the film. The film also stars a Finnish actor Tuomas Hiltunenwho plays Finn Janne Virta.

Kinsella wrote more than 30 books in his career, which have sold more than 45 million copies worldwide. The books have been translated into more than 40 languages. At the beginning of his career, the author also published books under his own name.

Before his career as a writer, Kinsella studied at Oxford University and worked as a financial journalist.

Kinsella will be missed by her husband and four sons.
