Sophie Hilbrand disses Albert Verlinde after VI performance: ‘Childish’

Sophie Hilbrand and her editors have severely dissed Albert Verlinde. They did not contact him again after his appearances on Today Inside. “Really very childish.”

It seems that the talk show Sophie & Jeroen (formerly Khalid & Sophie) has an important rule: if you sit down at the table at Today Inside, you will not be able to get in again. Olcay Gulsen was at the table on Wednesday evening and is no longer welcome in Sophie Hilbrand’s studio. “If you go to VI, you are not allowed anymore.”

‘Really idiotic’

Johan Derksen finds these kinds of maxims incredible. “It is actually very arrogant that the program from the canal belt then says: ‘If you sit here, then you can’t sit with us?’ Who do they think they are, dude?”, he responds Today Inside.

Table guest Albert Verlinde now appears to have experienced something similar with Sophie’s program. “Yes, idiot. I also had it last summer where they suddenly all sent messages like: ‘Can you sit with us every time?’ I said, ‘Okay, fine, let’s start the conversation.’ And suddenly it stopped completely.”

‘Weird types’

Sophie’s team didn’t say anything anymore after Albert joined VI. “Not even saying, ‘Well, we’ve made a different choice,’ but nothing. I also think because I’m sitting here. I think so.”

Wilfred: “That’s really incredible, isn’t it?”

René van der Gijp: “Weird types.”

Wilfred: “A bit childish, huh?”

Turbulent past

Albert and Sophie have a turbulent past together. Years ago, when Sophie still worked at BNN, she and Filemon Wesselink presented Albert with a self-invented award for best gossip journalist. What he didn’t know was that the prize contained recording equipment, with which he was then tapped at home.

Initially, Albert never had to see Sophie again, but later he forgave her: “They were both convicted for it; Sophie and Filemon both have a criminal record. (…) At a certain point you also have to say: and on. In the end I was proven right that it wasn’t possible. Fine, count your blessings and move on.”
