Son of Jürgen Klinsmann becomes a national player

His father became world champion with Germany. Now Jonathan Klinsmann is also becoming a national player – but not for Germany.
The son of the former German national coach Jürgen Klinsmann has been nominated for the US national soccer team for the first time. As the United States Federation announced on Tuesday, keeper Jonathan Klinsmann is part of the team of coach Mauricio Pochettino for two upcoming friendly games. Augsburg-professional Noahkei Banks is also in the squad of the A national team for the first time.
The USA will meet South Korea in Harrison/New Jersey on September 6th, four days later it goes in Columbus/Ohio against Japan.
Klinsmann is currently playing at the Italian second division club FC Cesena. The Munich -born in 2017 began his professional career at Hertha BSC, where he played a game for the first team. This was followed by stations at FC St. Gallen in Switzerland (2019–2020) and at Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS (2020–2023) before returning to Europe.
