Prince Maurits’ sudden TV cry has sparked wild speculation. The experts at Shownieuws think there is more to it. “It looks like something really bad is going on, doesn’t it?”

Prince Maurits became very emotional during an interview with the Amsterdam city channel AT5. The royal is in the solar panel business and he was interviewed about it, but his personal life was also touched upon. To the innocent question of what makes him happy, Maurits reacts like a waterfall.

Waterfall Maurice

It is remarkable how much Maurits lets himself go. On the images can be seen crying and his voice cracking as he says, “The fact that you’re together, the fact that you… I don’t know why this makes me emotional. But the fact that you have healthy children. That you just have a good life together and that you are very aware of that.”

He continues: “Stupid, huh? I also have friends who don’t have that, who are divorced and where it was only misery. Then you realize that happiness is not far away or in a nice car, but that is in health, togetherness, interaction.”

‘Very upset’

The experts of Show news are shocked. “I don’t know about you, but I think he is really very affected,” said Bart Ettekoven.

Colleague Guido den Aantrekker: “Isn’t there something going on here, Bart? Is something going on? This can’t just happen out of the blue come. What’s going on in his life? What would play?”

Presenter Dyantha Brooks: “Sometimes when you say things, it touches you. So he indicates that the family happiness, the time they have for each other, that affects him very much. So he can be very overwhelmed by emotion.”

Rauwdouwer

Guido thinks that is naive. “Yes, but we also know the royal family and certainly the boys from Van Vollenhoven, they are generally really raw people, aren’t they? This is also a boy who has been in the military.”

Dyantha: “Even a soldier can have a small heart.”

Guido: “I’m just saying: we don’t know him that well. That’s why it’s so remarkable. It seems like something very bad is going on, doesn’t it, because at the moment it is very emotional for him. That fascinates me, because we don’t know him that well.”

‘Looks bad’

According to Guido, there is really more to it. “I think he also looks bad. Like he has a really heavy burden on his shoulders. What that is, we can only guess at. We should certainly not do that, but it is very remarkable this story.”

“They are so trained to keep their emotions in check and he is really letting go of everything now. It’s not like he says after a minute: ‘We’re stopping.’ No, it goes on!”
