Markus Söder’s daughter Gloria-Sophie Burkandt describes the criticism of her father’s elevator when welcoming US President Joe Biden as excessive.
“The criticism of his outfit was not justified at all. I was proud that he wore that,” she said. Apparently she was not entirely innocent: The blue tie that her father wore “I think I even gave him. I was even prouder of that. It’s very fine.”
Söder had worn the blue tie in combination with a jacket when he received Biden before the start of the G7 summit at Schloss Elmau at Munich Airport, drawing ridicule from internet users.
