Lukas Podolski speaks out on Instagram with touching words. The professional footballer has to say goodbye to his dog.
Professional footballer Lukas Podolski has publicly said goodbye to his dog. On Friday, the 2014 world champion posted several pictures of his Labrador dog Holly, showing her from puppyhood to senior dog age. Podolski wrote: “From a wedding present to part of our family. We traveled together – you accompanied us faithfully and taught us what love without words really means. Almost 15 years by our side and now we had to let you go.”
The 40-year-old professional, who is currently under contract with Polish club Górnik Zabrze, thanked his dog for the time they spent together. “Thank you for choosing us, Holly – we will always remember you fondly and miss you very much. I love you.” He also used the hashtag “Rest in Peace”.
In his football career, Podolski played for 1. FC Köln and FC Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, among others. He also played abroad for Arsenal FC, Inter Milan and Galatasaray Istanbul. He played 130 international matches for the German national team and scored 49 goals. He was also part of the team that won the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
