In the past year, excise tax revenues again approached the level of 2019, before the corona pandemic. We paid more consumption tax on petrol and diesel as well as beer, wine and spirits in 2021 than in the previous year, but not on tobacco. This is apparent from preliminary figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) that NU.nl requested.
