News item | 23-02-2024 | 13:12

The new SLIM application period for individual SMEs will start on March 1, 2024. The application period is open from Friday, March 1, 2024, 9:00 AM to Thursday, March 28, 2024, 5:00 PM.

The SLIM subsidy helps entrepreneurs create a training and development culture in their company. With the subsidy, companies can set up initiatives to allow their employees to continue to develop throughout their careers to keep them employable and also to ensure that people continue to find their work fun and challenging.

You can submit a maximum of one subsidy application per applicant during the application period. The order for processing applications is determined by drawing lots. You must register in advance register via the Subsidy Portal of Policy Implementation.

Only complete applications will be considered. See more information about the requirements that an application must meet.

Changes as of January 1

As of January 1, the SLIM scheme has been changed on a number of points. It’s all about details, the scheme remains essentially the same.

The ‘inspection of the company’ activity of the SLIM scheme has been supplemented, meaning that subsidies can also be provided for assessments aimed at providing insight into other development needs to strengthen the educational working environment. In any case, this concerns learning culture scans. A learning culture scan is a diagnostic instrument that companies can use to measure and analyze their own learning culture.

Furthermore, the new concept of ‘R&D method’ (in Article 1) further defines when a method is eligible for a subsidy. The term L&D method stands for: structural embedding of learning and development activities, which is primarily aimed at acquiring new skills, knowledge and professional attitudes of employees in the company.

This can be done, for example, by introducing a business school, an online learning environment, a digital knowledge and learning portal/platform, developing learning paths or e-learning, a system of periodic development discussions or the introduction of learning ambassadors.

The changes are included in the menu.

Increase in hourly rate for external consultants

For subsidies applied for in 2024, a maximum hourly rate for external advisors applies of € 135 excluding VAT.
