Sloppy Botic van de Zandschulp eliminated in Rotterdam

Botic van de Zandschulp had to bow his head to Daniil Medvedev at the ABN-Amro tournament in Rotterdam. The 27-year-old tennis player could not make a fist against the number six in the world: 6-2, 6-3.

Just like his match yesterday, Van de Zandschulp had a mediocre start to the match. The service was severely below average and he was unable to fix that. The Russian always struck on important points in the first set: 6-2.

At the start of the second set, Van de Zandschulp had hope for a turnaround. He just couldn’t capitalize on the chances. In total he got six break points, but Van de Zandschulp was too sloppy at the decisive moments. The second set therefore also went to Medvedev: 6-3.

After Van de Zandschulp’s elimination, there are still two North Holland players left in the ATP tournament. Tallon Greek track knocked out Alexander Zverev very nicely yesterday and Gijs Brouwer surprised in the first round. Tonight he meets Holger Rune for a place in the quarterfinals.
