Slippery oil trail causes slides in the center of Den Bosch

In the center of Den Bosch, a mysterious oil trail causes many problems. Cyclists lose grip on the road surface and fall. Pedestrians are also sliding. The culprit would be a road sweeper that was leaking oil. The municipality is busy removing the oil trail with soap. Sand is also sprinkled.

Residents are busy talking Saturday morning about the oil trail. In the Karrenstraat, Dode Nieuwstraat, Minderbroederstraat and Snellestraat, among others, it is time to slide. Omroep Brabant has asked the municipality for clarification.

Slippery
“It’s really slippery, it’s not normal anymore,” says owner Roos of the sweet shop Bossche Suikeroom on the adjacent Tweede Korenstraatje. The Tweede Korenstraatje itself is not slippery, because the sweeper has not driven there.

“I put up signs on the adjacent street with warnings on them, because I picked up seven people from the street in ten minutes this morning,” says Roos. “Where people work, mistakes are made, it is what it is,” she concludes.
