Slight recovery at Kortrijk-Wevelgem airport, business and commercial flights are doing well

There were a total of 30,518 movements at the international airport of Kortrijk-Wevelgem. That figure is 8.2 percent higher than in 2021.

However, the recovery is still light. Before the pandemic, there was 12 percent more air traffic. Worldwide there is a backlog of thirteen percent.

Most air traffic was destined for the education and training of pilots.

More business flights and commercial flights

The airport does note that business and commercial flights are well above pre-corona levels for the second year in a row. With 3,184 movements to and from abroad and almost 10,000 passengers, this is an increase of 14.5 percent.

“This is proof that passenger aviation with smaller jets for roughly 5 to 10 people has steadily gained market share from the ‘large’ passenger aviation”, it sounds.
