Slash Reveals Which Horror Movie He Almost Peed His Pants On

Nothing should scare a tough rock star like Slash, guitarist for Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver. But one horror film really scared the American with British roots: George A. Romero’s zombie classic “Night of the Living Dead”.

Horror movie fan Slash about his favorite

Slash describes himself as a connoisseur of the horror genre, who can’t be frightened so quickly anymore. However, the 1968 zombie film scared the hell out of him: ” […] I almost shit my pants on the first ‘Night of the Living Dead’. It was so intense, real, and fucking depressing. I found it very disturbing,” Slash told NME magazine.

The guitarist developed his love of horror films during his childhood in Great Britain. It was then that he came across the Hammer Studios films that defined the style of horror on the island. “Actors like Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Charles Laughton – all these British horror icons… I felt it 100 percent,” says the GN’R member, who recently rocked Glastonbury with his band as a headliner. His father also recommended the books by HP Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury and Edgar Allen Poe to him.

Jack of all trades Slash also completed and produced the soundtrack to the horror film The Breach. In doing so, he was influenced by film music icons such as John Carpenter (“They Live!”), Danny Elfman (“Beetlejuice”) and Hans Zimmer (“Dunkirk”).

When and where “The Breach” will be available in Germany is not yet known. Otherwise, Slash is currently on a big world tour with Guns N’ Roses, which started in Abu Dhabi. They made their only appearance in Germany, in Frankfurt am Main, on July 3rd.
