Ski, Lara Colturi will compete for Albania: she is the daughter of Ceccarelli

15-year-old Lara is one of the most anticipated talents. Since she was a child she has been training for the highest level, she has won all the most important national and international trophies

Lara Colturi will compete for Albania. The 15-year-old daughter of the Olympian Daniela Ceccarelli and Alessandro, one of the greatest hopes of Italian skiing, has been officially included in the databases of the international federation as an athlete from the Land of Eagles and not from Italy.
The “change of jersey” is possible up to the age of 16 – Lara will turn it on November 15 – without the federation of origin having to issue the permit.

the choice

Albania, which has evidently offered advantageous conditions, will in fact guarantee those who follow the girl to have hands free on many aspects, technical and commercial. There had been talk of the hypothesis for some time but yesterday in the Fisi circles there was amazement, because it was thought that the question had settled. Lara still appears among the athletes “observed” by Fisi: in fact, in the coming months she would have entered the skiing of the greats. And you will do it, but for another nation for which you have obtained a passport, a fundamental condition for being registered on the FIS lists. A cancellation for Italian skiing, because for years Lara has been considered an absolute talent and her future as a protagonist is predicted, already from the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games, of which she is also an ambassador since 2020. In case she decides to change country and return to compete for Italy, Colturi would lose all the FIS points acquired and she would have to start all over again to get back on the starting lists.

The project

Lara grew up in the Ceccarelli Golden Team, the ski school run by her parents. Since she was a child she has been training with specific programs to prepare for the high level. She at the last Italian championships she children she won in slalom and super-G, while in giant she went out. This season it also won the Alpe Cimbra trophy (formerly Mickey Mouse; first in giant, second in slalom) and Pinocchio (slalom, third in giant), important international competitions that saw all the greatest skiers pass, starting by Mikaela Shiffrin.

Meanwhile, the FIS Congress meeting in Milan assigned the 2027 Alpine Skiing World Championships to Crans Montana (Svi).
