Ski jumping: Takanashi wins – Althaus past the podium – ski jumping – winter sports

First win of the season for Takanashi

Takanashi celebrated the day’s victory and her first win of the season with widths of 95 and 89 meters. Ursa Bogataj from Slovenia came in second (+5.0 points) ahead of World Cup leader Marita Kramer from Austria (+7.3 points).

Hessler and Seyfarth not in the top 15

In addition to Althaus, two other Germans made it into the final on Saturday. But both jumped past the top 15. Pauline Hessler was 18th with widths of 85.5 and 85 meters, Juliane Seyfarth was only 29 with 78 and 80 meters.

Rupprecht and Vogt fly past the final

Clearly behind, Anna Rupprecht (81.0 meters) and Carina Vogt missed the final of the top 30 with just 72.5 meters. Rupprecht was 38th, Vogt only came in 49th and penultimate place. Vogt, the premiere Olympic champion in 2014, has a lot of training deficit – in the summer she was barely able to go to the hill after an operation. She started the winter in the second-rate Continental Cup.

Suit does not fit: Friday was disqualified in qualifying

Selina Freitag was already disqualified in the qualification on Saturday morning (January 1st, 2022) because of a non-compliant suit. She can no longer qualify directly for the Olympics – so far, the Saxon has only achieved a 15th place and thus half the Olympic standard.

Only Althaus and Hessler have the Olympic qualification

With a view to the Olympic Winter Games in February, the German Ski Association now has a problem: So far, only Althaus and Hessler from the German team have qualified directly for the Games in Beijing in February. Like Friday, Seyfarth is still missing a top 15 placement, Rupprecht even a top 8 or two top 15 placements. The trio now has to accept a goodwill regulation from the ski association. The World Cup in Willingen at the end of January will take place after the DSV-internal deadline on January 22nd.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in February there will be a jumping from the normal hill and a mixed team competition with two men and two women each. The German Ski Association will take four jumpers to the games.
