Germany’s most successful ski jumper at the World Cup, Markus Eisenbichler, wants to withdraw from the public spotlight and slow down his emotions.

“I’ve become calmer and more relaxed over the last few years. It’s about looking at something objectively and not always so emotionally. Just continue working in a relaxed manner.”, said Eisenbichler before the start of the season in Wisla, Poland, this weekend. He got help for that too. The 31-year-old Bavarian is known for his great emotions on the ski jump.

Ski jumper Eisenbichler: “If you need me, I’ll be there.”

Even within the team, “Eisei” no longer wants to be the center of attention. “I tend to withdraw a bit more, I need my rest more. I do my thing a bit and realize I can’t do everything. If they need me, I’ll be there.”, said Eisenbichler, who, along with Karl Geiger and Andreas Wellinger, is the great German hope for the upcoming World Cup winter. Eisenbichler has amassed six gold medals at world championships, more than any other German ski jumper.
