Tomofumi Naito (JPN) vs. Vladimir Zografski (BUL)
16:38
Alex Insam (ITA) vs. Killian Peier (SUI)
Alex Insam is ahead in the fourth duel of the day and the Italian is really unlucky. The tailwind blows in powerfully and when the technique doesn’t work, he falls after just 118 meters. The 20 plus points for the wind shouldn’t be of much use anymore. His opponent, Killian Peier, also has to struggle with a demanding tailwind and cannot match the strong distance from the test. Nevertheless, the Swiss showed a solid jump of 120.5 meters, which was easily enough to win the duel and move into the second round.

Marius Lindvik (NOR) vs. Clemens Aigner (AUT)
16:36
Tomofumi Naito (JPN) vs. Vladimir Zografski (BUL)
Now the strong tailwind seems to be prevailing. A circumstance that the Japanese Tomofumi Naito also has difficulty with. Is the 123.5 meters enough in a duel with Vladimir Zografski? He doesn’t deliver a top set either, but with 125.5 meters he certainly secures his ticket to the final. Naito ranks behind Aigner in the losers list.
16:34
Marius Lindvik (NOR) vs. Clemens Aigner (AUT)
Marius Lindvik is on the move with the crowbar and works too much against the skis in the first few meters. The result: a disappointing 125.5 meters. But even for Clemens Aigner, things don’t work with more tailwind and he has to land at 125 meters. The grades are not great and so Aigner loses his duel and will probably be eliminated. Its width could also be difficult for the lucky losers.
16:33
Timi Zajc (SLO) vs. Markus Müller (AUT)
16:33
Timi Zajc (SLO) vs. Markus Müller (AUT)
In the first duel of the day, Markus Müller, the first Austrian, takes on Timi Zajc. While Müller was even stronger in the test, Zajc took his chance in the competition: with a slight updraft and from the high approach hatch, the Slovenian sailed to 136.5 meters. A strong template that puts Müller under pressure. But the young Austrian shows strong nerves. Despite a lot of tailwind, he managed a clean jump to 132 meters and his posture scores were also good. Müller secures the duel victory, Zajc has to hope for the lucky losers.

The conditions
The ski jump in Bischofshofen is in good condition. The bigger challenge, however, lies in the wind, which blows from behind with varying intensity. Here the jury must definitely show sensitivity when approving the athletes.

Deschwanden leads the Swiss duo
The Swiss team is led by Gregor Deschwanden, who appears to be the Austrians’ best pursuer with consistent jumps throughout the tour, but is already considerably behind in the overall standings. The team is complemented by Killian Peier. Junior Felix Trunz missed the jump into the competition.

Is there a conciliatory conclusion?
The German ski jumpers started this year’s Four Hills Tournament with high expectations. But this year too, the fight for overall victory remains out of reach for the German team. Pius Paschke is positioned as the best German in sixth place in the overall standings and is 39.6 points behind. In Bischofshofen it’s all about reaching a conciliatory conclusion. In addition to Paschke, the team includes Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger, Philipp Raimund, Felix Hoffmann and Adrian Tittel, as in Innsbruck.

ÖSV again with a national group
The Austrian Ski Association is once again relying on a national group in Bischofshofen. There are no changes compared to Innsbruck: Hannes Landerer, Jonas Schuster, Clemens Aigner and Manuel Fettner will once again have the opportunity to recommend themselves for the World Cup team. The team is complemented by Stephan Embacher, Markus Müller, Michael Hayböck and Maximilian Ortner, who want to attack the top places together with the tour favorites Kraft, Hörl and Tschofenig.

Power with exclamation marks
Stefan Kraft made a clear statement in the final qualification of the Four Hills Tournament yesterday and is the clear favorite going into the final Epiphany competition. On Sunday, the 31-year-old triumphed in the qualification in Bischofshofen, relegating his Austrian compatriot Maximilian Ortner and the Swiss Gregor Deschwanden to second and third place. The competitors for the overall victory, however, were a few points behind. Tschofenig ended up in fourth place, losing nine points to Kraft. Hörl took sixth place and also had to accept a gap of around nine points. In the test round it was Kraft who led the field again, Hörl came up with 2.9 points.

Austria three times
Before the final competition in Bischofshofen, overall victory in the Four Hills Tournament seems almost certain to go to Austria. However, an exciting internal three-way battle is emerging between the ÖSV Eagles. Stefan Kraft leads the overall ranking with 887.1 points, but only has a wafer-thin lead of 0.6 points over Jan Hörl. Daniel Tschofenig, third, is also still within striking distance, just 1.3 points behind. The best non-Austrian, Gregor Deschwanden, already has a gap of 23.8 points and probably no longer has a realistic chance of overall victory.
