As weak as the men are currently presenting, the women in Lake Placid make it so strong. Agnes Reisch crowned a strong performance by the German ski jumpers on Saturday (February 8th, 2025) with the first top 3 placement of their career in singles. In the great team, she had celebrated a victory two weeks earlier with the German team in Zao in Japanese.

“Sensational. I am on the podium for the first time, everything worked out”said Reisch afterwards in the Sportschau interview. “I already felt good on the way and thought that now I just have to ski jumping and enjoying it. I was nervous below because I didn’t know what the posture notes were and whether it was enough, but very cool that that is enough it was enough. “

Even before the second individual competition in the USA, a lot had been indicated that the DSV women would experience a much more positive experience than their male colleagues, where only Andreas Wellinger made it under the top 20. In the qualification, Katharina Schmid finished second, Selina Freitag Fünf and Reisch fifth – they confirmed the impressions of the previous day when, among other things, Friday was also fourth and Reisch also jumped as a fifth hill record.

Schmid doesn’t make it to the front again

Schmid had not got beyond eleven the day before because her first jump failed – and on Saturday her kick -off was also responsible for the fact that it was clear early on that it would not be a top position again. Although her first round was better with 116.5 meters and tenth place this time, she was able to increase significantly again with 124 meters, but in the final accounts it was enough for seventh.

The previous German number one lost ground to the overall leading Nika Prevc, who won with two jumps over 126 meters. Schmid also had to find out that her teammates are now so good that she is no longer the only candidate for podium places. Especially Reisch went one step further the day after her ski jump record.

Santaber Reisch continues to enthusiastically

The 25-year-old was second at halftime after a lightning-clean 122-meter jump and also delighted with a very refreshing conclusion. “This is really cool, the ski jump is really fun. I jump well and the jumps are also worth a lot. It is cool that I can annoy them in the front and conjure up my jumps stably” “said Reisch in the sports show interview.

And even in the second round, the German ski jumper remained stable and conjured up – and thus secured the first podium in her career. Reisch claimed her second place with 126 meters, and the winner Prevc was missing 10.9 points in the end. But she wasn’t the only German on the podium.

On Fridays Constance is rewarded

Friday also underpinned her stability, after the fourth places in the first lake placid competition and the qualification she made the crucial leap forward. At 121 meters, the 23 -year -old went to the final as the third – and she also claimed this position. 128 meters were enough to keep the competitors around the previous day’s winner Eirin Maria Kvandal (fourth). For Friday it was the second podium in 2025 after second place in Sapporo.

Something behind her German colleagues was Juliane Seyfarth, but she also performed well. At the age of 114.5 meters she was 17th, 119 meters, she brought her 16th place – in both cases she had not dispensed with the Telemark, even more would have been in it.
