Anze Lanisek won the last World Cup of the season. But the highlight set Domen Prevc with a world record.
When he ended up, the trembling planica: Domen Prevc achieved the world record in ski flying with 254.5 meters. But it wasn’t enough for victory. His Slovenian teammate Anze Lanisek got it.
It was a conciliatory end for the DSV eagles. In a season full of ups and downs, the German team, which secured a second place in the team the day before, showed a good performance at the end of the season.
Wellinger flies onto the podium
Andreas Wellinger showed a good first round and wanted to attack the podium again in the second – with success. In front of the eyes of Markus Eisenbichler, who celebrated his farewell to the ski jump on Saturday, he made another jump that made it possible for him. “It was a bumpy season that started well at the beginning”he said in the sports show interview. “But then it became more difficult bit by bit. The knot burst in front of the World Cup and it finally went uphill. Today I can end the season very satisfied with this third place.”
Pius Paschke, who was rewarded for his season in Planica, was also satisfied. After fifth in the first round, he flew 237 meters in the second to Sensationallle – personal best for the 34 -year -old and sixth place.
Also violin in top 10
Karl Geiger achieved a solid first round. In the second, however, he then made a really strong sentence and flew into the top 10. During the landing, he was then welcomed and cheered by his former room colleague Eisenbichler.
National coach Stefan Horngacher was also satisfied with the appearance of his eagles: “It was a long season, it cost a lot of strength. We are glad that we were able to complete them now”he said in the sports show interview. “We still have to search a few things. We started well, then had a few problems. Nevertheless, we can be satisfied with the season.”
Daniel Tschofenig won the overall World Cup victory on Friday. His Austrian teammate Jan Hörl was second. Third with Stefan Kraft also came to an Austrian.
