Andreja Slokar gets better and better in slalom. The Slovenin looks incredibly loose and smooth and masters all change of direction. There is also a lot of luggage for Slokar at the back. Either the route is slowly dismantling down there or Shiffrin and Ljutic have simply conjured up there.

Anna Swenn-Larsson (SWE)
Anna Swenn-Larsson learns the same fate as some drivers before. It looks round and fluid at the top, but then a little wobble costs it crucially speed and there is still half a second on the target slope.

Can Paula Moltzan attack the best time of her compatriot? Absolutely! The American reaches every single goal consistently and is long at the top time before leaving two tenths on the target slope and checking in on the four. But everything is still possible.

Melanie Meillard (SUI)
Melanie Meillard should have good cards here as a pure slalom specialist, but somehow the worm is in her. The Swiss woman does not find a line at all, drives some detours and loses the leading Mikaela Shiffrin for almost two seconds.

Lara Colturi (Alb)
Lara Colturi starts for Albania, but Sestriere is her home slope. For this, Colturi initially drives it up very well and only releases the skis in the middle section. She doesn’t seem really satisfied with eight tenths.

Now comes Zrinka Ljutic! The 21-year-old is so far the shooting star of this winter and confirms this with another highly concentrated run. The Croatian attacks every single goal and undercut Liensberger’s time again by 0.25 seconds.

Katharina Liensberger was in a good mood in the giant slalom on Friday and is getting in better and better today after a hesitant start. Rast would have been a bit faster, but did not book time. This is the first direction of the day 54.13 seconds.

The post goes off! Camille Rast opens the slalom and immediately absorbs her rhythm with light snow. The Swiss man drives out of one cast, masters all hairpins perfectly and seems to be presenting a real top time here. Rast is so fast in the target slope that it actually threads and exits at the penultimate goal. Is that bitter!

The Switzerland team leads rest
After three season victories in the slalom, Camille Rast is probably the hottest iron in the fire for the Swiss. After four second places, Wendy Holdener would have earned a victory and should not be underestimated. The same applies to the very stable Mélanie Meillard, who reached the top ten in every slalom of winter. Aline Danioth, Aline Höpli, Elena Stoffel, Eliane Christians and Anuk Brändli also start.

ÖSV hopes for Liensberger
Austria sends a total of eight athletes into the stick forest this Sunday. So far, the most successful was Katharina Liensberger, who has been on the podium three times and finally won World Cup bronze. But Katharina Huber and Katharina Treuppe can always be trusted. Dürr wants the first win of the season
Aua German perspective rest the hopes, especially on Lena Dürr. The 33-year-old has been on the podium three times this season in the slalom this season, but never at the top. That should change in Sestriere. Dürr is currently in fifth place in the discipline ranking and could climb into the top three with a good result. Emma Aicher is also back today and wants to attack again after three Tope Ten results in the slalom. Jessica Hilzinger and Roni Remme also start for the DSV.

Only three winners in the slalom
Eight slaloms have already been held this winter and there were only three different winners. While the first two still went to Mikaela Shiffrin, who then injured herself and has been looking for a form since she returned, Camille Rast and Zrinka Ljutic have divided the other six races, with the Swiss who recently fetched the World Cup title. Rast will open the competition today, Ljutic is already following with the start number three, Shiffrin immediately afterwards.
